OUR PURPOSE
This May 2025, El Camino Foundation’s President, Jeff McNear, made an official visit to Honduras with the purpose of strengthening strategic alliances and evaluating opportunities for collaboration that support sustainable development in the country. The visit was coordinatedd by our Director of Development, Miriam Sierra, who shared the key highlights of this mission
MEETINGS & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
Intibucá
A meaningful meeting was held with World Vision Honduras in their area of intervention. The meeting included Area Program Coordinator, Lic. Kevin Chicas, and Executive Director, Lic. Flor, with whom current projects and future joint efforts were discussed.
Ruth Paz Foundation
Conversations were held with Engineer Gerardo, who oversees donation coordination, to explore future cooperation aimed at strengthening the healthcare system and social support in vulnerable communities.
Cámara de Comercio e Industrias de Cortés (CCIC)
President McNear met with Mr. Karim Kuahin, President of the CCIC, to share our ongoing work in Honduras and explore the possibility of establishing a local board of directors, which would support the sustainability of the foundation and expand its impact.
Hospital Club de Leones
A meeting was held with Lic. Ismael, President of the Club de Leones, where a mutual cooperation agreement was established. This agreement will support the delivery of over 7,000 eye surgeries, as well as the training of local technicians and screening for cataracts, pterygium, and other eye conditions.
CEPUDO & Food For The Poor
Finally, meetings were held with Mrs. Linda Cuello, President of CEPUDO, and Lic. Lillie Rieti, Director of Donations. Agreements were made to work together on: Donations of wheelchairs and food Development of nutrition, health, and education projects in underserved areas
